Hi.
I've been wondering about the size of these units. I've been using Dirk Donvil's ideas in his lovely rule book "About Caesar", in which he has all foot units as 8 figures strong. However, I've been thinking about this. Would light infantry units be as big as heavy infantry units?
In The Portable War game, I think light units are 50% the size of heavy units, so that would make them 4 figures strong. I was wondering if 6 figures might be more realistic?
What do other members do? Advice much appreciated as I want to get things looking right (and my lazy side wants to cut down on painting!!!!!!!)
Best Wishes Dave

Dave,
Interestingly Neil Thomas has skirmish units half the frontage of normal units in his One Hour rules. I think there's a tension between do you represent the fact that a skirmish screen could cover a wide frontage or the fact that such units would be numerically smaller than regular foot units? Neil Thomas clearly goes for the latter view.
Cheers Anthony
