This has been asked a couple of times. To get an email notification for when a thread is updated:
1) Bookmark the thread using the pulldown at the top right of the thread.
2) Go to your profile tab and select edit profile
3) Go to notifications tab
4) turn on Bookmark - thread you have bookmarked is updated - select the frequency from the dropdown.
That's it.
