Very nice! I recently bought some Replicants pirate figures on a whim. Having seem those Playmobil ships I might actually be tempted to actually do somethin with my figures. Peter Pig pubished aome piraten rules that combined land and sea action and then there's the Warhammer Historical pirate rules (I've forgotten the title).

I've been buying the Playmobil pirate ships off eBay, last week I bought two of the larger sized ones (the red one and another like it) and the blue one in the first set of pictures for $69 including shipping. So that's only $23.00 each. Currently I have two large ships, two medium ships and 7 small ships - like the one pictured below. Granted most are missing some pieces but replacement parts can be purchased off eBay or from Playmobil UK. I can purchase all the missing parts for the two large ships for $70 to $80. New the ships sell for $350 and up on eBay. The pirate captain is a slightly modified 54mm Tehnolog pirate that I painted recently. I have numerous pirate rules, one free set in particular looks interesting - Evil Steve's pirate rules (Jackson Gamers). Here's the other two pictures:

The cannon in the first set of three pictures is one of the Playmobil cannons, I kept the gun carriage but replaced the cannon barrel with a brass barrel a friend cast up for me probably 30 years ago. Once I've used the six of those up I'll make a mold and cast the barrels in resin.

Attached is a photo of one of my Playmobil boats standing in for the US Schooner Carolina. +1 vote for Limeys and Slimeys - a very fun beer and pretzels game. I have played a lot of games using them in 15mm, but I am looking forward to trying them out with my new 54mm fleet.

Great looking ship zuludon, I think the playmobil pirate ships are fantastic. I played Limeys & Slimeys years ago and enjoyed it very much. I made up a movement chart cross-indexing the direction the ship's bow was pointing with the direction of the wind - giving you the ship's speed. If I remember correctly I used a 16 point compass setting - the chart also included the sale setting which either increased or decreased the ship's movement.
Some other rules I have are: (5) Broadsides and Boarding Parties (6) Heart of Oak (7) Blackbeard: The Golden Age of Piracy by Avalon Hill

zuludon, do you happen to know the Playmobil number of the ship that you posted the picture? I don't have that particular ship but like the way it looks. I just happened to notice that the wheel is high on your ship (too high for 54mm figures), I had the same problem. I solved the problem by (1)popping off the wheel housing, (2)sawing off the piece sticking up, (3)putting the wheel housing back in place, (4)sawing off part of the tit on the back side of the wheel, (5)drilling a small hole in the wheel stand at the desired height and (6)screwing the wheel in the new position.
I'll try to post some pictures to show exactly what I did.
