Welcome to the Little Wars Revisited Forum. This was setup to provide a place to discuss wargaming with 54mm figures and to promote the scale for wargaming. It is also intended to provide an alternative to yahoogroups which are becoming harder and harder to navigate.

Yes. Yahoo is just dreadful these days. Thanks for creating this. Hope it takes off.

Thanks Mike! As a 100% soloist and close to that skirmish gaming, I find 54mm to be much better visually for some battles. My first collection of 54mm figs was back in the '70's as I gathered every 54mm Gladiator I could find for playing FGU's "Gladiator"
Best of luck with your new forum!

Hi all! I haven't been very active in gaming lately but I saw this forum starting up and wanted to support it... and I keep thinking I'll get back into gaming. Here's a link to my old blog posts regarding 54mm gaming: petiteguerre.blogspot.com/search/label/54mmLooking forward to seeing the forum grow. --jeff

Hi, I collect and game with Jenkins figures for the French and Indian war. I have some WW2 stuff as well but it rarely see the table since I have other scales for that era.
Looking forward to the new forum.

Thank you for NOT making this a yahoo site. I have John Jenkins for the French and Indian War, as well as plastics for the AWI, ACW, and some Old West types. I also have a large WWII collection that I am slowly selling off.

So pleased to see a proper forum - I have always struggled with the Yahoo style group.
Look forward to seeing this develop.
And I shall kick off by mentioning that HaT is looking at producing his Austrian Napoleonic figures "shortly", so there is hope for Nap fans still.

Hello! I've played Little Wars, Funny Little Wars, and Little Cold Wars.
I have quite a few 54mm Britains metal and plastic figures as well as a few Hong Kong copies, and own several Britains 4.7-inch guns, Crescent 13-pounders, and Britains field guns.
I also wrote the Portable Wargame rules ... which I hope to publish at some time in the future.

Greetings! I'm Howard Whitehouse, and I have been wargaming since H.G. Wells sent an urchin to my lodgings to ask if I'd be interested in a jolly game with toy soldiers.
That's not true, actually. I'm also not currently playing with 54mms, although I have a smallish collection of mostly recast Britains, mostly colonials, painted in acrylics and glossed. And I used to play old west in 54mm plastics, a collection which - alas - I gave away since it couldn't move across the Atlantic with me in 1983.
What I am doing is working on my own set of toy soldier-style rules, 'A Gentleman's War', which are certainly moving forward nicely. I'd be happy to send them 'as is' to anyone interested. My plan is to work towards publication, at the very least through my own small operation 'Pulp Action Library.'

Bob, great to hear that you're planning to publish your portable wargames rules! Would you consider including a few scenarios in the published version? As you know Mike and I convert Neil Thomas scenarios but it would be much better if we had custom designed scenarios for your rules. Regardless, we will snap up your rules as soon as they're published.
Best wishes Anthony Morton

Just to say hello, and thanks Mike for setting this up. Real name Tim Hall, but "trooper" on the LAF. Fairly recent convert to proper wargaming with the big boys, although they were the playthings of my youth way back when. I got the call at the Toy Soldier show back in 2004. I hope to try out Howard Whitehouse's rules soon.

Hello Mike, well sir, I began war gaming with W.B soldiers while in high school. H.G. Wells's book was our bible. Went into the service, and sold everything. Fast forward to the 90's and I met a fellow who was into war games, but using more modern, Sword, & Flame. Well that started it, and I fell in love with Trophy, and Imperial soldiers. My army now consists of those two manufacturers plus several other manufacturers. Just before he moved I talked him into getting back into war gaming with Mr. Well, and we both started buying re cast Britains. Bob, and I did the Gordon Relief Expedition, and the 2nd Afghan war for several years until he moved to the big city. Since that time, most of my army has sadly been in 'winter quarters'. Unfortunately I am now living on my hill station in the central highlands of Arizona. I look forward to meeting you all. I remain Sir, Respectfully, Michael O'Dea Montgomery, The O'Dea

If anyone would like to try out the WIP version of 'A Gentleman's War', email me at professorbellbuckle@yahoo.com. It's only a couple of Word docs right now, but it's developing nicely.
