I seem to have always had a thing for picking periods to wargame where no manufacturer makes appropriate figures in 54mm, for a while now I've fancied trying TYW but I'm wondering how much work would it take to convert the figures from A Call to Arms ECW?

I think the ACTA ECW figures can easily transfer across to the30 Years War. I have no references with me but given the range of countries involved there are bound to be variations, I also seem to recall greater numbers of cuirassiers which would look quite spectacular. I'll respond more fully in a few days.

Brian,
There are a few drawbacks to using ACTA figures. The matchlocks are all under scale. However, the pike should work well. Many are in full armor, something not seen in the ECW after the first few engagments. You can also add some of the Replicants figures in. They are a bit taller but still work well.

Thanks for that Chris, I'm not a stickler for accuracy or scale so long as the overall look feels right for the period. I think I'll start with a bit more research on clothing and standards, floppy hats and big boots seem to be the order of the day.
