Just to start another discussion and see what others are doing with there OLD Deetail WW2 figures. I dug out some pics from my files.
With normally only 6 poses to choose from and the static nature of most of them I changed a few heads and details to create something a little different, but that still looked like a commercial product. Actually a collector asked if it was possible, so that they could match with the existing ranges and fit better into a DEETAIL collection. So the extra paint work is minimal.
CAMO GERMANS using AFRIKA KORPS with GERMAN INFANTRY Heads and a new paint scheme.
BRITISH JUNGLE TROOPS, BURMA. Using BRITISH INFANTRY with AIRFIX AUSTRALIAN INFANTRY HATS and new rolled up sleeves.
GERMAN INDIAN LEGION, NORTH AFRICA. Using AFRIKA KORPS with AIP INDIAN ARMY heads.

Here are some JAPANESE INFANTRY with AIRFIX JAPANESE INFANTRY CAPS. The officer has been altered to have his equipment in the correct place an sniper has neck flap to cap.
The same WW2 JAPANESE INFANTRY but this time changed to a earlier period of uniform, The BOXER REBELLION or RUSSO - JAPAN WAR. Cap is from a DEETAIL Foreign Legion and I've moved the equipment around to the correct position for the time.
An idea for creating troop types for the INTERWAR YEARS for fighting in CHINA. The Japanese Invasion or the Warlord era and beyond.

This group is a little more detailed ,as requested by a client.
BRITISH COMMANDOS using the standard BRITISH INFANTRY set. I added toggle ropes at the waists , commando knifes on the legs and new hats. The Demolition packs are scratch built from putty. Sten gun from a AIRFIX figure. New paint job but still in keeping with the toy soldier 'look'.

Here is an experiment in painting different WW2 German Camo patterns. Luftwaffe Field Troops Camo and Autumn 'Fleck tarn'(pea dot) Army Camo What do you think, looks reasonable or not realistic looking ?
