Since I always chopping heads off of something to make into something else I find that I have a box of bits, mainly headless guys! Also have a large bag of broken figures normally bags picked up under tables at Toy Soldier Shows, things like AIRFIX, MATCHBOX, Hong Kong clones, etc Grab bags I think they are generally called. These are ideal for convertors as you can usually save something on the figures to be useful. So what to do with a group of headless AIP WW1 Russian Infantry ? After a rummage through my bag and found half a dozen WW2 MATCHBOX US INFANTRY with heads still intact. I had a quick measurement of the neck line and was happy with the fit. So now I have WW2 RUSSIAN INFANTRY in SUMMER DRESS with Helmets. The US and RUSSIAN Helmets are very close in shape, as far as Toy Soldiers are concerned, so I'm happy enough with the appearance. I have a 'Pilotski' cap head to clone, so I will do a few more with this type of hat. Plus add on a Sergeant with a PPSH machine gun from and AIRFIX Russian and do something special for a Officer to complete a unit. I have plenty of WINTER Russian and figures armed to the teeth with all types of machine guns but I was really looking for a standard Rifle squad, these will fit the bill nicely.
