Btw have we recruited any new folk for the day and what games are we currently expecting? Hi Alan I have updated the top of the thread - sadly we have had a couple of expected players drop out so we look like having fewer people than last year. I haven't had definite conformation from Tim Rose about his Little wars game yet but am hoping it will go ahead...

Hi guys. I've booked in at the Hilton Double Tree for next weekend at Woking (only 9 sleeps!!!!! 😁) I'm arriving on the Friday afternoon and staying til the Sunday morning. Is anyone else staying there as we'll? Just thought It's be nice to meet up and chat and eat together - and we could plan on how we're going to beat Anthony in his game on the Saturday!!!!!! 😁😂🤣😅

LWR Woking 54mm Games day 2020
I'm very sorry but due to the changing national and local situation regarding Coronavirus, and the heightened risk of my having preexisting medical conditions (of diabetes and past lung problems), I have decided for me personally that it would not be sensible to travel up and back to London from the West Country to stay and take part in the LWR Woking 54mm Games day 2020 this year.
I have spoken to my fellow Scouting Wide Games developer Alan Tradgardmastre Gruber several times over the last week and he will be making his own decision and communicate this with you.
We hope to bring an even better Scouting Wide Games for the Tabletop and Snowball Fight Rules to the next Woking event (2021?)
I (and Alan) have contacted Mike Lewis the organiser by email as we thought it would only be fair that I / we offer to pay our fair share of the room rental as I / we would if attending the day.
Sad decision as as I looked forward to meeting you all in person. We hope that the remaining games and the Day goes ahead smoothly and we look forward to seeing the photos on people's blogs. I hope that the prep for other events Salute etc is also not affected by this uncertain situation.
Apologies and many best wishes to all! Mark, Man of TIN blog
P.S. Who knows, I may hopefully get a solo game in on the LWR day in solidarity...

Apologies from me too. I feel it would be untenable for me to travel for personal and family health reasons. Mark has really said it all. I look forward already to Woking 2021 and to continue reading your inspiring blogs and posts not to mention a detailed account of next Saturday . Best wishes Alan

Really sorry to hear that Mark and Alan aren't going to make it. I am not planning on cancelling even if it ends up as 6 of us! Hope to see everyone else on Saturday.

Do we have a provisional date for Woking 2021? The reason I ask is I can reschedule travel but not get money back... Thanks .

Sadly gentlemen, it is with much regret that I too shall no longer be making the journey down this year. I have discussed my situation with Brian Carrick and feel that it would not be fair to attend. I am presently looking after my adult disabled son who is at home with...yes a chest infection. We have no reason to believe it is the dreaded corona virus but his employers are not taking that for granted and neither are we. I would not wish to risk spreading even a harmless chest infection to anyone in the current situation and I hope therefore that you will understand my decision not to attend. I was looking forward to it very much and will support any future events/get to togethers. Regards Graham
