I wanted to test the published version of the Portable Wargaming using some of my old 54's. I figured it would allow me to revive a handful of them without committing me to too much or rather opening the door to new hordes. I used the Zulus in a fictional contest and never got around to doing proper Zulu War Brits and my various Indian Mutiny/Cape Frontier British are all gone so I grabbed some vintage Gordon Highlanders dressed for Tel El Kebir and needed refurbishing and some of my Crimean and Fenian raid figures. Proper Brits to follow! The test game with pictures can be seen here: gameofmonth.blogspot.ca/2017/02/the-published-portable-wargame-pt-3b.html but I'll throw in a couple of pictures: 1. A sample unit of my old CTA Zulus, painted in a hurry nearly 20 years ago and now on multi-figure bases for the first time. I put a finishing nail into each base to hold casualty markers. (Stands each include 1 new Britains) 2. A shot of the game in progress Ross

Those look great! Reminds me that I have a bunch of Anglo-Zulu war figures languishing in the cold, cold basement. Just waiting for warm weather to resume that project.
