Hi. Am trying to paint some Greek Hoplites to go with Alexander's army.
Some are in muscled Cuirass, which is fine, but it's those in lamellar armour that are the problem. I can only find colour info from Phil Barker's book. He says it was white, although pink was used.
Is this correct or does anyone have info on the colours to paint the lamellar armour. I've started painting with white. Only done two, but it all looks rather uniform/samey. I don't mind if this is correct, but just wondered what others do.
Thanks Dave

Linen can be dyed any colour whatever, so I should go for something nice and bright. Natural dyes can be horribly vivid, so go wild!

Thanks for the info. One way of calming down the white already done would be to use your suggestion and paint the border around the linen a vibrant colour. The Ex-Force figures have quite a detailed border moulded round the linen armour, so should stand out nicely and take away the "glare" of the white.
Many thanks Dave
