All,
A question, for Sunday's game I would like to have a Franco-Prussian force fighting against a British force (primarily in Home Service uniforms).
I know the following armies will be available:
Mike - 1 British and 1 Prussian Me - 1 British John Clarke - 1 British and 1 Prussian (can make two commands for Sunday)
Will anyone else be bringing along 'appropriate' armies? It would be great to have another 2 French, Prussian or Russian based forces or even someone's imagi-nation army.
Thanks
Antony

Thanks Antony I can bring a British Khaki Army (which I am using some of for the NWF game) that we can use as a generic Khaki opposition army to join the Prussians....

Looking forward to it -I've no troops useful for the Saturday (all mine being Boer War/ turn of the century) - but looking forward to acting as press correspondent and, of course, meeting everyone

Up to you of course. Antony

Thanks Anthony - will have a look see tonight at a suitable force. Cavalry in 6s infantry in 12s ? Field gun and gunners? They're all lead and I'm being dropped off early tomorrow so ... portability and weather will play a factor. Love to take the CIVs for a gallop though Paul

Best wishes Dave Looked amazing. Gutted to have been so close but so far - looks like people had an amazing time. Hopefully to be repeated a couple of times next year (he says hopefully) I'm not jealous of many things but missing this one, I'm a little green

It was a great weekend! I umpired two games of Age of Penda which I'm happy to say both Dave and Paul enjoyed. Then there were two magnificent games of Bigger Battles umpired by Antony that were fantastic. I'm happy to say the British won both times:). Antony's hexon terrain was so outstanding that with the help of some excellent ideas from Mike I'm switching over from TSS to Hexon. Antony, many thanks for all your hard work in organising the weekend, and especially for umpiring two excellent multiplayer games (did I leave my second card deck behind?!!).
Cheers all Anthony

It was a fun weekend and I was impressed by the Element Games games centre setup. They were busy with a lot of players both days. On Saturday we had Anthony Morton running Age of Penda with 40mm Expeditionary Force Dark Age figures. I ran a 54mm North West Frontier Game using AIP figures and TMWWBK rules from Osprey. The British had to recover some stolen elephants. Antony Spencer ran a 40mm Napoleonic games using the Bigger Battles rules we used for the Sunday game - which I failed to get a picture of, but I know that Antony took plenty.. There was also a Crusader Game put on by a couple of guys who have huge 54mm collections

On the Sunday Antony Spencer umpired a game for 6 of us using the Bigger Battles rules from Wiley Games on Antony's Hexon terrain. The figures were a mix of my own Little Wars Revisited figures, some AIP cavalry and John Clark's figures which were a mix of home cast Prince August figures and recast Britains. The Prussians were tasked with attacking and preventing the British reinforcing from Scotland, while the British were taked with holding ground and getting to higher ground. When we called the game, there were no objectives held completely by either side but a lot of units had died.... The rules worked well for a multi-player game. The drive up was a fairly horrendous 5.75 hours in driving rain. The drive back was slightly better but still 5 hours door to door.
