Hi. I put this post elsewhere, then realised it was in the wrong place, so I'm doing it again.
I saw a post on YouTube and the guy mentioned he was using the above set by Neil Thomas. I just wondered if anyone has seen/used them and can give me an overview as to what they're like and if they feel they are good. The guy in the video (sorry can't remember his name) seemed to like them.
I have ordered a copy - not arrived you - but always think observations by other people are useful to know. Thanks. Best Wishes Dave

Hi Dave,
Mike and I have played loads of games of One Hour Wargames, usually with 54mm armies. In short we love the elegance of the mechanics and most of all love the 30-odd scenarios that come with the rules. Each period covered by the rules contains the four most common troop types of that period. The WW1/Interwar section also contains optional extras such as tanks and preliminary bombardments. We have played the Ancients and ECW sections so far and had great games. We also use the excellent scenarios for our games of The Portable Wargame.
I don't think you will regret buying a copy!
Best wishes Anthony

Thanks for that Anthony. Always good to have feedback from the "experts". There's so much out there that it's so easy to waste money, so the forum's a great way to find things out. The great thing on this forum is that nobody thinks you're daft for asking a question.
Best Wishes Dave

As Anthony has commented we have played a number of games using One Hour Wargames. They are very simple and, at first glance, possibly appear too simple. But, give them a chance as written as there are a fair few subtleties in the way they work. We found that ECW played with renaissance rules as written weren't very ECW but have had a good game with Alan Saunders adaptions for ECW which give more varieties of troop type.

Thanks Mike. Always good to get other people's views. My copy still hasn't come, but hopefully will be here within the next couple of days. Looking forward to reading it. Anything to expand my experiences and give a good game and in the great 54/60mm scale. Best Wishes Dave
