Looking at the member stats, we have over 80 people on this board who have never posted at all.
Any of you care to chip in and let us know what you are playing, what 54mm (or 40mm) you have or plan to get?

Joined a while back and I am in the process of getting 54mm figures; I've already amassed a good collection of Britain's guns through eBay. I want to make a collection that could be roughly played from 1861-1914 though I am more interested in wars set after 1870+ where you see massed line infantry and the advent of the machine gun (also because of movies such as Zulu).

I've got a couple of Armies in Plastic WW1 Indians, Highlanders, and British soldiers in Brodie helmets. I want to create an "Army Khaki" with the Armies in plastic Brits, though for "Army Blue," the AIP Civil War and Americana Civil War sets work well for me. I'll not be painting them, as they are already color-coded. Some BMC and CTS sets also work in a pinch.

I had a similar plan to build Russo Japanese War armies using only AIP sets. I ran out of steam when I couldn't figure out what to use for Japanese cavalry. I now realize that I could have used British Boer War cavalry with Japanese round hat head swaps.

Greetings, gents! Jeff from the States here. Started playing with toy soldiers at about 5 and, now at 73, I'm glad I never outgrew them! I do some homecasting, repairs and conversions on originals, and manage to squeeze in a bit of gaming from time to time. Mainly interested in the Victorian period, with a bit of medieval, VSF, and whatever else catches my fancy. Currently painting up some 40mm Scrubys from Historifigs. I'll post some of my stuff when I figure out how to upload the photos! Cheers, Jeff

Hello,
I'm Douglas from Edinburgh, Scotland. I recently got bitten by the 54mm bug (around May of this year). I was mostly interested in doing fantasy skirmishing to start with; I bought several miniatures from Irregular Miniatures and some from Thunderbolt Mountain Miniatures. I still like the Thunderbolt Mountain ones and will get back into painting them soon, but I've gone off the Irregular Ones a bit (in fact I've put my painted ones up for sale).
I'm thinking about leaving fantasy behind and moving onto some World War 1 skirmishing (though probably "Weird" War 1 rather than strictly historical).

Welcome Douglas!
You certainly painted your IM fantasy figures very well, even if you've gone off them.
Cheers Anthony

Hello, a very late entry on a months old post I grant you, but anyhow I'm John from Western Mass, USA. 54mm is my favorite scale, though like most, through necessity I have and still do wargame in other scales.
My favorite subjects include post-1812 Americana of all kinds, British Northwest Frontier and Central Asia, and the Spanish American War.
I have a Civil War project comprised mostly of TSSD and Paragon, with some metal ATKM and others mixed in, and guns by Britains. This project haunts my nightmares and will probably never be completed.
Also in the category of "likely never to get finished" are a Sioux Wars project, again TSSD and Paragon, with some Lod and unidentified stuff thrown in, and a stab at the Northwest Frontier that will never get past "skirmish level".
My current project, and one in which I have a greater deal of optimism in actually getting fully painted is The Spanish American War. A mix of AIP and BMC, which will also include some conversions of others for Insurectos and mounted troops. I'm currently working on figuring out a way to best represent the Spanish uniform.
For the shelf I collect King & Country Alamo, The Real West, and some Battle of Britain. As well as some W. Britains, mostly Civil War generals and "Dirty Shirt Blue".
That's about it, glad to be here, love seeing folks painted models. Hope all is well! - John

A very warm welcome to you John! I would be very interested in your plans for the British in Central Asia, as I would love to recreate the engagements between British forces and the various tribes of the Caucasus as well the WW1 operations in that area. As always, finding the figures is the problem.
Cheers Anthony
