Awesome. Are you doing units of 12 or 24 infantry?
And have you had a chance to playtest the rules at all?

Units are 12 line with an officer and ensign so 14 figures but the O&E only affect units in the advanced game of All the King's Men. Basically if a unit takes as many casualties as their break point in an attack (4 in the case of line infantry) there's a chance the O&E are hit and reduce unit effectiveness. We've played five or six games of A Gentleman's War using Pilum40's 54mm AWI figures as well as a Sudanese Revolt with his 28's. I absolutely adore AGW but I'm going to use All the King's Men for convention games. Just a few points that I can see making convention players mildly annoyed as well as rules that can't seem to stick in players' heads. I keep saying it's one die for every TWO figures but players keep wanting to use one die per figure and if the opponent doesn't notice than they're being outgunned 2:1. And getting the close combat results table into their head with the way it plays out runs counter to how they want it to. The What Luck cards which I love can certainly spoil the game for someone looking for a serious game. Whaddya mean this trench just opens up because he plays a card!!!! !? The options with the Hold cards, everyone forgets them and then someone remembers and 3/4 of the way through the game they start adding move distance, pulling other units into melee support. All this stuff is awesome and I love it but it's a little overwhelming for a convention game I think. It's one of those things, I plan to switch over to AGW when I get rules explanations down or a Quick Reference Sheet assembled that reminded players of what hold cards can do in a turn and all that. I can't suggest A Gentleman's War enough though every game has been fun and I chalk misunderstandings up to me not explaining the rules with enough clarity.

Ah good stuff, I can see how some of those might be confusing, especially for folks raised on Warhammer 40k vs. Charge or similar old school rules.
