I saw these figures mentioned on the Welcome thread and figured I'd start up a conversation about the rules to use with them here (since that also came up). My 5 year old has a collection of these figures, which I may have borrowed on a few occasions, but for those who have not seen them, the figures are from a series of toys called Star Wars Command. Here's a link to a search on Amazon :https://smile.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=star+wars+command Anyway, for small scale sci-fi skirmish I am a fan of Chain Reaction from THW (I use the "Final" version, but there's a more recent version available for download at that link). I suspect the THW 2d6 sci fi rules would work as well and be easier to grok if you're not a THW player already. Both of these are free. For platoon sized games, I like USE ME Sci-Fi They're for 15mm figures - obviously, you can ignore that part. For a similar sized game, or larger, I like FUBAR as well, and they even have a Star Wars supplement. You can find all of the FUBAR rules free here. Any other suggestions?

I wrote a set for my 10 year old nephew called "Rebel Scum." Very much a skirmish game with ideas borrowed from a variety of rule sets.

That looks neat - I like the idea of SF games in the garden -you actually have the space to make weapon ranges realistic! Plus I am thinking you could use the round concrete balls you can get as garden ornaments as planets (properly painted) for space games...

The Skirmish Wargame Collective play 54mm SF games, using our own Space, Time & Robots (STAR) rules. Campaign on at the moment is Into The Kraken Nebula, some info on my Blog lifes-a-botch.blogspot.co.uk/ and more on the Tales of Derring Do Facebook page. All sorts of figures, mostly highly converted. The photo is of my Zaurian (a reptilian alien race) Heavy Infantry, made from Tehnolog Lizard men.

Actually they are now Medium Infantry, as I have converted some Star Craft 'Space Marine' figures into Heavy Infantry, in battle-suits. If I didn't keep changing my mind about colour schemes I'd have the whole army finished by now! The figures took a lot of tracking down, and were not cheap, but I'd almost used up all the ones I'd bought originally, for 40K Chaos and Imperial Space marines.

The 2008 reprint of Donald Featherstone’s Skirmish Wargaming (1975) by John Curry History of Wargaming Project has two additional sets of Skirmish rules / scenarios using the same game mechanics as the rest of the book. The scenarios are Mining Station Sigma 9 (Year 3015, the Far Future) of a space ship crew and aliens and To Claim our Long Forgotten Gold (Third Age) Fantasy with dwarves elves and goblins and a troll. Not used these yet.

second that.
I've heard people use fistful of lead: galatic heroes is good for SW.
I'm looking at using SWMB rules from the 90's with converted ranges and movements
