Hi all this thread is for anything Star Wars related for 54mm (ish). Please share your ideas and pics of anything that might work on the tabletop. If you've got battle report please start another thread I'm just mucking around with images at the moment I'll start this thread properly soon Seems like resizing images and adding as attachments is easy enough These three figures are reposed unleashed battlepack stormtroopers. I mucked up the guy pointing looks like a bad arm transplant!

Hi jhonpog, I've found a different use for the excellent SW figures...I use rebel fleet troopers as Dalek mercenaries from the Dr Who story 'Resurrection of the Daleks' and Rebel Hoth troopers as anti-Dalek guerillas from the Dr Who story 'Day of the Daleks'. Perhaps Mike, who has painted and is painting these figures for me would ne kind enough to post some pics?

Huge fan of the SW Command figures. I've been working on a set of skirmish/RPG-lite rules to use with them so me and some friends can run groups of smugglers fighting to survive and thrive in the midst of the Galactic Civil War.

Please share pics and rules when you can aduck. I'd definitely invest in the command figures more if I wasn't already into the unleashed stuff. There are merits to collecting either line. I'll get this thread going soon promise

I've seen and commented on this project over on LAF (as Arundel), so won't repeat myself here except to say how inspiring it is for me. My daughters (!) and I have had great fun playing with my Star Wars Unleashed figures - cracking, nearly indestructible little figures that come with rather nice paint jobs. We have our own characters and have seen them through several adventures (I dislike using movie characters in games, to avoid those "Hmmmm, Luke, the last hope of the Rebellion, was just shot and killed by a random stormtrooper" moments). Please keep posting on future developments!
Must say I'm intrigued by the idea of using some of these in Dr Who games. My main project for nearly six months now has been getting together a 54mm Dr Who collection: I have the Doctor, Davros, K-9, Cybermen (all Corgi), various unique companions (German model railroad civilians), UNIT (Britains Deetail paratroopers) and, of course, Daleks galore (Roll-A-Matic). It has occurred to me that my Star Wars Imperial officers (not sure what they're called - you know, the chaps in black) could make passable Dalek troopers...

This felt like a better place to discuss all things 54mm. Yes agreed they are surprisingly nice figures very detailed and nice to convert. Making up character figures is a good idea makes things less restrictive. Any pics you'd care to share?

okay so to kick this thread off I highly recommend this site for an excellent run down on some of the figures out there: sfdfsfd.wordpress.com/2014/12/31/star-wars-54mm-minis-31dec2014/I'm going to do a (very) short blurb on the different figures on the market and what I think about them. I'm most of you who are interested in these figures will know most of them but I hope to have a surprise here and there. I also just mainly posting pics I can find on line at this stage but I'll do more myself later If anyone has anything to add or any corrections please get stuck in

STAR WARS UNLEASHED BATTLEPACKS These figures were released between 2006 to 2008 and typically came in packs of 4 or 5 figures. They cover the original trilogy, the prequels, the force unleashed game, and Clone Wars the animated mini series The sculpting for the most part is excellent, everything is pre-painted to a good standard and ready to go Scale varies between 1/32nd to 1/30th for the most part. Some of the figures like Tarkin and the rebel fleet troopers are WAY to big. Tarkin's like 1/24th I think. Additionally a few of the poses are err a bit over the top but most are reflective of the films One of the best parts of the line is the addition of a vehicle and artillery. I'm sure if it has kept going we would have seen more These figures are getting harder to find at a decent price these days.

DEAGOSTINI COLLECTIBLE FIGURINES Deagostini released their figures I think in 2005 with a collectible magazine. The sculpts and detailing are very nice and the paint jobs were generally very good a step above the battlepacks. The poses were fairly static overall but there are a lot of figures in this line that are not available anywhere else so they are well work picking up such as dengar, admiral akbar and a really nice gamorean etc The scale is pretty much bang on 1/32nd they work well with unleashed figures as well as other figures non-star wars related. I'll post more pics later Attachments:

STAR WARS COMMAND FIGURES Ok these figures were released in 2014 in different sized packs ranging from 6 to 8 figures plus some other bigger sets. They are arguably the first SW toy soldier as they are unpainted and cast in single colours for the most part. The range lasted a couple of years I think then like it's predecessor stopped before they could release any endor rebel troopers gah! The figures cover the useful time periods plus figures from the animated series Rebels. The sculpting is mostly very good in this range although some of the faces tend to be a bit soft The scale varies between 1/35th and 1/32nd scale so they can look pretty small against some of the other lines. However they work well with other 1/35th scale figures. There are some awesome painted examples out there like these :

And here's a quick scale comparison of a few figures. I've posted this elsewhere but it's a good representation of the three main ranges I think. The imperial officer is very tall (about 64mm to the top of his cap) but he is comparable in heft with the other so scales in nicely. He's just a tall guy! I really like the Deagostini scout trooper though, nice pose, nice paint job and nice scale. I'm going to be cloning that guy real soon From left to right; SW Command, Deagostini, Unleashed, Unleashed Attachments:

STAR WARS ACTION MASTERS These figures were released in 1994 or 1995 and are the earliest examples of figures released in this scale as far as I know. The range is very limited, just the main characters and the ubiquitous stormtrooper for a total of 10 figures. The sculpts are pretty good, somewhat simplified. The Han Solo figure looks like a Han Solo cosplay but the c3p0 is epic with a metal plated finish. C3p0 and the princes leia and r2d2 figures are probably the best versions out there. Scale wise they are very close the unleashed line. The Chewie and Darth figures probably worth better with 1/35th figures. I don't have decent pics of these yet but here's one from the net and a scale comparison. Deagostini blew it with their stormtrooper one of the few figures in their line that's not so good There is one unreleased figure from this line; a nice looking snowtrooper. I'd love to see an unofficial release of this one day

Wow, that series of posts is an excellent guide to what's out there in 54mm. Thank you for taking the time to do this, J! One other possible source is the line of cake toppers released by Applause over the years; they tend to run a little big, but with things like bounty hunters and so on that doesn't matter so much, at least to me. They are good sculpts. Their Greedo, for example, is significantly better than the one released with the Unleashed packs, though again, he is a little tall. And there is a great Leia! Anyway, they are worth checking out! They can often be had for cheap on e-bay.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks man happy to do it. I've got a bunch of other entries I'm going to add to try and be as comprehensive as possible. But I'm looking forward to posting conversions/ terrain etc.
Good call on the applause figures I reckon they are about 1/24th scale or so and yeah it depends how fussy you are about scale no reason why you can't have a big rodian or two!
ok more soonish
