Here are some other rebel forces shown in the Graphic Novels which illustrate the wide variety of types which could be created to fight your stormtroopers. So converting some of the standard Army men toy soldiers would work for the 'good guys'. These are RALLTIR REBELS, with pretty standard military uniform with the only unique item is their waist sash.

These ones are from KATTADA and are ROYAL GUARDS. Very unique look with Fezzes and knee breeches.

Next ones are JABIIM FREEDOM FIGHTERS, again fairly standard military colours and kit, the equipment belt with shoulder straps seems to be a common element not seen on other planets. Attachments:

jhonpog, Your experiments with the speeder bike is going in the right direction, looking forward to seeing the finished item. I also picked up one of those DISNEY STORE Speeder bikes, it was on sale so bought one to work out what scale it was supposed to be, like you I was disappointed with the size. It looks like it would be a match to the sets of character figures they produce for each movie as ornaments, sometimes called cake decorations by Ebay sellers, which aren't really scaled to each other but generally stand 3 inches tall. I've worked out how to put a base on my Speeders for the parked 'look' but modelling has had to stop for a few weeks as I have just had eye surgery with lens replacement and it will take a few weeks for the vision to be clear. Fortunately my 'good' eye still works for reading and watching TV so I'll use the time to do some research on SW subjects Since you are comfortable with resin casting have you tried the Shrinking and Expanding Resins ? I just spotted a mention of this on another forum. Check out www.theengineerguy.com/products_2/Expanding-Shrinking-Resins/There are a couple of videos on Youtube related to the product. Apparently you make a 1:1 copy of what you want and wait between 4 - 10 days until it shrinks, evenly, bit by bit to the size you want and you then you have to make another copy to get the actual size you want. It seems a bit hit and miss unless there is a formula for how much it will shrink. So it should be possible to have a 63mm stormtrooper come out at 54mm. Check it out.

jhonpog Your Imperial 'Grunts' look pretty good, the helmet size seems reasonable as the illustrations of these guys shows them with big helmets compared to stormtroopers. For the guys here not familiar with the Graphic Novels here are some illustrations of IMPERIAL DEMOLITION SQUAD , they have unique back packs and carry different types of explosives. The Officer even has a unique battle dress uniform but still in the Army Green colour. cheers Les yeah I didn't think they looked too out of place size wise. I got a bit lazy with my conversions and ended up leaving alot of the british commando gear on the torso but it works out. My paint jobs are very average I am way out of practice ha ha! Les is that the EMPIRE series? what volumes? I've got a couple of those plus the rebellion ones they are a surprisingly good set of reference material. I really like the down sentinel shuttle in one of the princes leia stories

Check it out. hope the surgery went well Les and vision returns soon I am eager to see what you are going to do next I've looked into the shrinking silicone moulds a little bit. My limited understanding is that you mix up the silicone for the mould as usual and then add a certain percentage of odorless mineral turps to the mix and to bulk up the volume. Once the silicone sets it slowly leaches out the turps and the mold shrinks. It takes a few days for this to happen so you have to keep an eye out on it but apparently it can be done. Oh yeah it works best as a single piece mould not multiples So I bought a deagostini endor trooper from their chess set. I think it's 1:24th scale but my plan was to have a crack at shrinking him down to 1:30 or 1:32. But then I looked at the helmet and felt it needed to be modified a bit to be a little more accurate so I started filing away at that and now it's on the back burner. Might be time to have a go though Here he is next to the insanely oversized unleashed Tarkin and then mega-tarkin and a very nice britains ww2 german officer who might be in for a head swap soon Attachments:

Les is that the EMPIRE series? what volumes? I've got a couple of those plus the rebellion ones they are a surprisingly good set of reference material. I really like the down sentinel shuttle in one of the princes leia stories The Illustrations are from STAR WARS EMPIRE series. RALLTIIR and KATTADA both appear in VOLUME 3 - THE HEART OF THE REBELLION It covers 4 stories featuring Princess Liea. This is the one with the battle on the landing pad between a Imperial patrol ship and Lieas' crew with Kattada Royal Guard help. VOLUME 6 - IN THE SHADOW OF THIER FATHERS has the JABIIM . VOLUME 7 - THE WRONG SIDE OF THE WAR has the Imperial Demolition Squad plus loads more related to Imperials as the story has Luke and a team of Rebels in disguise infiltrating a base. The illustrations are pretty good for the most part, depending on the artist, the stories have loads of game worthy elements and excellent background material that hasn't appeared on any of the movies. The NEW Disney sanctioned Graphic Novels by MARVEL are worth checking out too, the glossy paper makes all the illustrations look more professional. I've just finished the 4 Volume story of a brand new set of characters - DOCTOR APHRA , a young female archeologist that is interested in selling what she finds and avoiding DART VADER her previous master. She is accompanied by an Imperial protocol Droid re-programmed for inflicting pain, an R2 unit converted to fire rockets that 'likes' blowing stuff up and a ex-cage fighter Wookie , that she owes money too that won't leave until he gets paid. She is like a female Han Solo out for the big bucks !
Also available are DARTH VADER 4 Volumes, HAN SOLO single Volume, PRINCESS LIEA single Volume, LANDO single Volume, CHEWBACCA single Volume, so far. More stories are being added at regular intervals. These are called the COLLECTED EDITIONS as they are the bound weekly comics.

Make your mould as normal but pour in Shrinking Resin instead of your usual stuff, once set remove from mould an WAIT! The water content evaporates and cause the resin to shrink equally over the entire product, when it reaches the size you require you have to make another silicone mould but this time pour in your regular resin and you have the new master in the size you want.

jhonpog, Here is the next project. SW Female characters, are everywhere in the movies and in the Graphic Novels but not many have been added to the figure ranges, so I'm hoping to rectify this by using KINDER SURPRISE EGG 'BARBIE' figures. There have been 4 series so far with figures standing 54mm to 65mm tall however they are all kind of elongated to reducing the height isn't a huge problem. This series from 2017 had the figures plug-in at the waist, with the legs giving the extra height. see attached pics.
I decided to make a new pilot on the SWC Pilot legs but since I can't manage the putty work just now I've included a 'artists impression' of what it might look like. Obviously it needs more detail and may turn out to be part of a Rebel cell !

I'll definitely check that out cheers Les Your new project looks fantastic that's a very clever use of those figures I'm impressed:) As soon as you put pilot legs on the torso i changes the figure radically very cool!

just made me realise I had a female pilot on the go too. The figure is a modified aalya secura unleashe, still pretty tall but the angle and the heft mean she's just a tall woman rather than out of proportion I think. the original twilek figure is really weirdly posed; another unleashed oddity! I carved the head out of a resin x wing helmet and grabbed the flight box thingy. I'm still working on the gloves and I sculpted up a vest. Right hand is airfix and the blaster is from a snowtrooper captain. anyway it's still a WIP but hope you like it

The detail is looking very nice, good sculpting
I just cut my AAYLA SECURA figure up into three pieces to start - Head, torso, legs. I'll probably ditch the odd legs. I have experimented with putting her body on different legs and she actually fits quite nicely on SWC Tie Pilot Legs. I'll copy the head to use on other figures. Since both her arms are different lengths I may change the light sabre one for a blaster, so that she is just an ordinary TwiLek and not a Jedi.

the body is the aalya secura one I just cut it up and pined the living daylights out of it. Now that I've seen your technique with the SWC leg swap I think I might do differently next time Copying that head is a good idea too I've got another one of these figures I'll do same I think. I'm still trying to improve my sculpting and painting as I go. Hopefully the putty will hold on that slippery vinyl that the figures are made from! back to those graphic novels I've just ordered wrong side of the war so looking forward to seeing the artwork. I'm tempted to have a go at scratch building an E-wing from Dark Empire but I need another project like I need a whole in the head at the moment

That's a lot of extra work chopping up Aaylas' body to create something different, well done I couldn't tell what you had used. If you use Green Stuff putty it should adhere quite well to the PVC used in the unleashed figures. You won't be disappointed with 'The Wrong Side of the War' graphic novels, it will help you with working out how to create IMPERIAL buildings and machinery. The artwork is the quality of the Demolition Squad ones I posted, although clearer !. I'm concentrating on the figures and scenery first before looking at vehicles. Although the SW REBELS - IMPERIAL TROOP TRANSPORT looks as if it might be useful, it appears quite a few times on REBELS episodes and the current models seems to be about the correct size for 54mm figures. Just need to find one at a good price When on the ground most of the Ships will take up too much room on a table to be worth the effort of building, unless your game has fighting inside and out of them. A tank might be useful, like the one in ROGUE ONE, but it would have to be scratch built or a heavily modified existing model. The smaller or medium size land vehicles would be quite useful though as objects to attack/defend. Attachments:
