Hope everybody's staying safe! Here in the US we just got back from a 2 week trip to New Orleans and Colorado, and I've got some food and provisions for a couple weeks, just in case. All you old guys ( ) are in the most dangerous demographic, so do please take care of yourselves with plenty of hand washing and "social distancing" (of 6 feet+). Plus, buy some copper tape to cover your phone cases and doorknobs: www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2015/11/151110102147.htmPlenty of solo wargaming to be done inside for me for the next couple weeks.

Hello all, sorry I couldn't make the games day yesterday, I was all set for it then a work problem came up late on Friday which meant that I had to work through Saturday, this rarely ever happens so I'm very peed off about it. Still I hope you all had a great time and got some good games in.
On a separate matter, I spoke to Paul Morehead, who I'd arranged to meet at the games and I know he looked in, but I'm not sure if he told you that Les White who was an active member of this forum sadly passed away recently, Les was a very keen converter of figures for 54mm wargaming and a lot of his figures are posted on this site.
Best wishes, Brian

I am really sad to hear about Les. I corresponded with him on personal messages as well as on the forum. I have some WW2 Danish heads he made for me ( and accompanying figures to convert) relatively recently awaiting assembling along with a few freebie heads he added in.He always had lots of suggestions and ideas which he was keen and willing to share. He was indeed a skilled converter producing great figures . He will be missed on this forum.

A shout out to Mike for organising it all and keeping going despite all obstacles! I thought Eric's Romans and Celts were fantastic-so nice to see a 54mm ancients game at the games day. Mike's terrain, both for my Rorke's Drift game and his Relief of Fort Pippin was just superb and really looked the part. The Portable Wargame rules once again came up trumps and gave Dave, Mike and myself four great games.

The games are all very different and fantastic in their own ways. The Roman figures are beautiful en masse and individually. I am particularly taken with the chariots, horses and crew. The watchtower is full of charm, Was it a commercially available building? The clear cut terrain of the Zulu game works very well indeed. I particularly like the building in the compound and the mealie bag defences. Different from last year’s game but looks equally fun. The Salute game is spectacular and I imagine it will get the interest of people at the show. An exciting scenario, great figures and terrain/ train/fort , an excellent demo and encouragement to 54mm gaming. It is a shame re numbers but not surprising. Let’s hope for a splendid Woking 2021! I would be interested to hear more of the ancients rules used if the authors would share them with us. I wonder if Salute is tenable this year, time alone will tell. Mike are you selling the trees yet that feature in the Salute game?
