It is indeed Murat. I bodged a few into early 18thC cavalry by means of de-feathering the hat and a repaint.

Yes I remember these in The Works here in the UK, but I couldn't think what to use them for so didn't buy any. Mike What about converting them into Balkan light cavalry for your proposed Ottoman forces, just a thought Stu

And I thought you were a true wargamer - to me that first sentence makes no sense. 54mm metal cavalry at £2 a pop! Who needs a need?
Secondly - yes, nice idea - would be very useful - can you find me a source/illustration please, even just a little bit close. That's addressed to you and everybody else in the thread, please.

I think I have found them - Hungarian/Transylvanian Hussars from the two Gyozo Somagyi books. Convert headgear, add a pellise, slung arquebus and curved shield?
