12 infantry, 6 cavalry, style of your choice, probably currently leaning towards Balkan Wars.I look forward to seeing your unit taking shape. I envisage individual basing. A female unit would be something different and really interesting.

I know It's a while off yet - I don't even have the figures yet!!! - but are we deciding on a standard base size per figure, or are we leaving them off bases and just using them as they come?

As they come( which is how I find things as, for example I am currently converting from old Crescent toy soldiers) or perhaps on a two pence piece/ washer of that size. I don’t think we should be too bothered by base sizes, though it is an excellent point to raise. What do others think?

I'd go for whatever you normally do. FWIW my preference is 40mm round washers textured individual bases and movement trays for 5 figures. Makes they usable single if wanted (eg casualties) but quicker to move around.
Here is my first unit from the Royal Armed Forces of Bodden-Bumburgh, the Imperial Naval Marching Band...not yet based as I have just suggested!

My imagination is The Duchy of Tradgardland which I have been researching for around twelve years now. Often confused by historians, scholars not to mention the general public for Denmark it is in fact a unique Duchy which has been around for many centuries and retains its independence today. Here is some background history and I have attached a map showing the Location of the Duchy in Europe. The Ducal colonies will be looked at another date... Attachments:

Tuppenny basing sounds good and warbases type movement trays for 2p bases are available. Sounds like a plan.

If anyone wants any photos of figures from the Dorset range while planning what you might us, please let me know. I am also happy to offer a 10% discount to anyone building units... Thanks Mike, that's very nice of you.
From experience when Giles was at the helm, I know how useful Dorset bits can be. Some heads are a tad small for putting on AIP figures though - can I check out the match between the AIP FFL and heads 106 Russian Mitre Cap, 117 Prussian helmet with plume and 118 Prussian Guard with eagle, please. Do you think they would fit together OK.
If so I'd like 10 x #106, 10 x #117 and 5 x #118 please. I would also like 10 x #180 Scimitar and 5 x #198 side drum too please. Should I put it through the website and Paypal - how do I apply the %?
Pretty obvious the way my thinking is going on a couple of units I guess...

Super map, I can’t imagine that things have substantially changed by 1910 ( perhaps better roads, railways even canals) in terms of BB place names. What a fascinating geographical position it has, at the very centre of all the tides of history I imagine...

Thanks, I have added a RR into and out of, at- Heineken - Musak - Boddenburg - Bumberg -, and the Nordland canal coming in from Prussia via Musak to Boddenberg, Airpotr ner Lobvitz on the plain (sorry). The east bank of the Pessel and across to Saxe Alten is a Muslin enclave. the River Meusel is navigable in and out og BB and conects with the Prussian canal network and eastwards through Saxe Aten to the sea.

I tried to vote but the system will not let me. Has to be pale blue - quite lovely.
Have the first unit of BB infantry out ready to start on - nice and simple - AIP FFL with AIP German spiked helmet heads, all black uniforms, yellow facings and piping, for The Grand Duchess's Own Fusiliers.
