Dave,
My thoughts on artillery and horse archers: I'm with Ross in that artillery should be immobile (only the Romans had mobile field artillery as far as I know). I would reflect its vulnerability by doubling all hits against it in melee as per the rules for flank and rear attacks, in line with my preferred approach of using existing mechanisms within the rules where possible. But if it were me I would not use artillery with your forces at all, as I only know of one battle involving Macedonians where artillery had any effect and that was Philip's defeat by the Phokians-but the artillery was used by the other side!
Using the Horse and Musket cavalry troop type for horse archers is exactly what I would do, as porting over a suitable troop type from another period within the rules is always my first resort.
Cheers Anthony

Thanks Anthony. Always good to get other people's perspectives on things. As I've painted the artillery, I'll have to put it on the table!!!! You know what it's like. And the Ex-force artillery pieces look so good. I had thought of keeping it immobile and like the idea of double hits if attacked.
