I don't have the references in front of me but as I recall the actual Bardin specifications and patterns were distributed too late for most units to implement them for 1812. After Russia the need for uniforms was so urgent the existing depot and warehouse stocks of the old style uniforms were used along with the new uniforms (or no uniform jackets). Up until the 1813 Armistice there probably were a mix of styles.

Thanks rahway. You've confirmed what I thought. Does anyone know if the same applied to the British?

Thanks for the info rahway. They look very nice. Just been on the site and they have the fusiliers on as well. Wish they weren't in blue plastic though. Having been spoiled by the Ancients, who have hard plastic weapons, so no plastic droop or bend, I just hope the muskets will behave themselves and not involve lots of hot water and straightening work before you can get painting! Will buy some though, as I love Ex-force figures, and want to expand my Victrix armies. Hope the other figures won't be long in coming. Those cavalry figures look great (might have to buy some and sell my Italeri ones!!) and I just love the look of the Royal Marine sculpt - great for a Peninsular battle. The only thing now is that I hope they fit in scale wise with the Victrix figures.

WOW!!!! Absolutely unbelievable. This will revolutionise 54mm Napoleonic gaming. Going to send for a box of the French fudiliers soon. Just keeping my fingers crossed that they'll fit in with the Victrix figures so I can expand my collection. Will be really upset if they Don't match scale wise.

Thanks again for the latest news rahway. They look great.
I saw the French releases at the Birmingham Toy Soldier Show last weekend. I have some on order from Ex-Force. They look very good, but I'm not sure they'll fit with my Victrix figures and the plans I have for them.
However, I need to check them properly when they arrive (have you noticed how difficult it is to carry sizes and colours in your head). The releases look very exciting - at last, some really good Highlanders and cavalry to look forward to, especially in Tarleton. Having seen the prototypes of the cav on their site, they're absolutely mouth watering. Isn't it great that Christmas is coming?!!!!!
I'm of the opinion that even if the scale Isn't quite right to match the Victrix, I'll still go ahead and use them. And how wide a range they're producing. Can't wait.
And what about next year when they're talking of doing Romans, Carthaginians and 18th century. My bank manager will go mad!!!!!
Best Wishes Dave

Hi. Had an email from Scott Lam from Ex-force. They're hoping to have the French cavalry released by the end of next week, so keep your eyes open. The sculpts look great.

Hi, Great news. Just seen that the French cavalry have been released by Expeditionary-Force. They're lancers (French), chasseurs and Dragoons and interestingly, you can buy each set in different combinations. E.g. Lancers with officer or Lancers with trumpeter.
I've just ordered 2 boxes so I can see how they fit in with the Victrix and Italeri figures I've already got.
Here's hoping they're compatible, or as near as damn it so you hardly notice.
Best Wishes Dave

This could be called the Green Cavalry release. I like the pose selection.
