Hi Mike,
I've just ordered another unit of Norman knights, and will bring my Anglo-Normans rather than William's little ECW men. This is because the extra knights will give the option, if needed, of playing a balanced 3 or 4 man game. (8 knight units and 8 foot units)

Would love to attend and run a game but can’t make that date. Is it an annual event or will you run another one later in the year?

Hi all, as Mike has mentioned above I am looking to run a Northern Games Day at the end of September at the North West Gaming Centre (Element Games) in Stockport. Stockport is on the mainline between London and Manchester and there is a Premier Inn across the road from the venue. I will start another thread where this event can be discussed.

Hi,
I’ve just joined the forum. My 54mm gaming has been sporadic but goes back to the 1970s, playing western gunfights inspired by Mike Blake & co. Some years back a friend and I collected together a couple of ‘armies’ to play Little Wars. These were a mix of old Britains/Herald and Armies in Plastic with a number of matchstick cannons purchased from ebay. We had a lot of fun but British weather isn’t that kind to playing outdoors so some games took place indoors.
I mainly game use smaller figures – 6, 15, 25/28mm – but attracted by the Spencer-Smith range of figures and the photos on Aly Morrison’s website I’ve assembled a couple of 42mm armies based on end of 19th century British and French. I’m using A Gentlemen’s War which is a lot of fun. I also still have a certain amount of the western gunfight and ‘little wars’ kit in 54mm and keep admiring the larger figures I see in use on various blogs, particularly Battle Game of the Month’. So I’m looking to acquire some more for a small set up. I suspect the choice of period will depend on availability thus I’m about to start looking through the resources section so thanks for such a useful forum.
I see that there’s a games day coming up in Woking which is an easy journey from London. Is the event booked up or could I come along?
Brian

You are more than welcome to come along to the games day. We allocate people to the games on the day so always have some space. Hope to see you there.
