Nearly at the end of 2021 so starting to think of plans for 2022. I have a small number of collections to add bits and pieces to and a new collection to start on. So plans are:
Napoleonics
- Finish the British Napoleonics through head swaps for the infantry (to belgic heads) - paint some British Cavalry to even up the sides - work out which figures I have that I am never going to use (i.e. lancers in cuirass!) and sort out selling them off
North West Frontier
- assemble, base and texture Fort Kandahar - sort out basing for the British - add some more Afghan Cavalry
40mm AWI
- finish off 2 more British units (nearly done) and add a light unit - paint 5 American units - this will give me enough for Rebel and Patriots
Punic Wars Command and Colours
- make a start on painting the figures for this now I have everything I need
Of course there are bound to be other more shiny projects that come along..
What is everyone else planning...?

I enjoyed reading your plans Mike. Mine are vague but one is to tackle the lead/plastic shed based mountain. On the more immediate front I have coming a job lot of broken Britains figures, metal that is. The idea is give me a project if I get out less due to Covid, which involves mending and restoring. I have a 6 by 4 hex mat coming and l hope to use my 54s on that. To do some toy soldier gaming with a friend who lives locally. To get my Winter War 54s on the table for some games. P.s forget to mention I am keen to try some fantasy gaming in 54mm too

My main plan for my 54mm collection is also to tackle the plastic/lead mountain lurking in the man-cave - some hope! πππ I need to finish off a 24 figure unit of MARS Napoleonic French guardsmen and might then complete my ACW Union force - I need a couple of infantry units painting up and a gun or two and then I can pit them against my completed Confederates. Iβm also planning to purchase the Hat Napoleonic Austrian infantry command set and use them to lead my Italeri Austrians to certain defeat! Hope Hat also bring out the promised 1/32 Nap Austrian infantry set this year as the Italeri stuff is very difficult to find now. Also adding figures to my medieval/dark ages collection via random purchases on eBay/toy fairs etc. Might even get round to taking some photos of my stuff and seeing if I can manage to post them on the board some point in the near future! π

I hope to finish all I have started in the Back of Beyond Setting Sitrukistan Ablaze. Looking at what I have I need to stop makig new stuff for new factions and just finish off properly (gunners, maching gunners etc) the factions I have already established...
The new Chintoy TTM/CG have taken my fancy and I plan to do something with them - but not as per Dumas. I loved a trilogy by Pierre Pevel set in the same time period but with the CG as the heroes (well some of them - the elite Cardinal's Blades) up against the usual villains (including the King's Musketeers!) anf as an added complication which will not appeal to all - dragons!!! I started it in 75mm Papo but ran out of steam. Reckon it should be more magageable in 60mm - except for the dragons perhaps!
I am also looking to restart my Vienna 1683 project Ottoman army based around the wonderful EG Janissaries - have enough figures to do units - and some Polish opposition esp Winged Hussars (some figures and some conversions) of course.
And that doesn't even mention returing to sme SF!

For 54s, paint up some AWI cav that I recently purchased.
Continue work on my 54mm Napoleonic project (Russians and Wurttemburg), and actually play some games with them. I based about 150 painted infantry figures in the last two weeks.
I've got a large colonial Sudan project that I am never going to paint so, I will probably just play games with them in their natural unpainted condition.
I've got a number of things that I am working on in 25mm also, as well as a large 15mm zombie project that I need to get based up and on the table.

I am rebasing my 54mm AWI figures two to a base to use with the "Live Free Or Die" newish rules.
I need to finish painting my ACW Union conversions to British infantry for the 1860's New Zealand Colonial Wars. They are going to battle my Regal Toy Soldiers Maoris in some skirmish actions.
I will be running two 54mm games at a new local convention called The Gauntlet in January: a Magnificent Seven shoot out game using "A Fistful of Lead" and a Rorke's Drift game using "The Men Who Would Be Kings".

I have fallen in love (again) with Britains Deetail figures and have three projects lined up for 2022 that will involve head swops and new paint jobs: Middle Earth, Crimean War and early 20th C colonial (the latter being the Senussi War and/or Dunsterforce). It struck me recently that most Deetail poses are ideal for movement trays as the bases are a consistent 20mm frontage and most poses make it possible to line them up next to each other on a tray. The narrow frontages mean that conventional rules basing conventions-which in most cases are for 28mm figures-will work perfectly.

Exciting times ahead. I am particularly interested in the Middle Earth project!

It's all star wars for me as usual I have some excellent 3d prints from Aducknamedjoe that I am painting, a bunch of terrain projects to finish and I am working on a star wars themed dungeon crawl to play with the kids: boarding ships, escaping prisons, raiding bunkers that kind of thing. Might look at a printer this year? It opens up alot of options for figures I am mucking around with a simple rule set; for use in the dungeon crawl but should be useable as a table top. Hopefully very simple very fast designed to capture the Star Wars film feel crossed with playing toys soldiers as a kid; heroes can knock down an opponent with one (maybe two) dice rolls or shoot multiple times etc

Well first day of the new year and I've finally done something. The south face of a Norman chapel has been started www.patrickswargames.uk/normans/chapel.jpgFor all of 15 seconds I considered modelling nearby Kilpeck church, kilpeckchurch.org.uk/, which does has a motte and bailey next door, but decided the high level of craftmanship would best be left as a project for Eric. So I'm going for an approximation of the even nearer Yatton chapel www.visitchurches.org.uk/visit/church-listing/the-chapel-yatton.htmlInterestingly Kilpeck was built during the civil war I game, when a lot of the Herefordshire was laid waste. Very violent and very pious the Normans.
