I am waiting for my armies in plastic figures to arrive.
I will be using one hour wargame Rifle and Sabre rules.
Basing will be 6" frontage depth to be decided.
Number of figures on a base 3 cavalry 2 Skirmishers 1 gun 4 crew 3" frontage 4 Infantry

I have some AIP figures for the Sudan period. They're really good and paint up well.
How many bases are you using for each unit? "About Bonaparte" can also be used for this period. It recommends 6 (instead of the usual 8) figures for British units and 10 (instead of the usual 8 figures) for the Mahdists.

One base per unit, but if the weather is OK next year. I would like to use 4 of these bases per unit in the back garden on a 12' x 12' area.
I am going to base the figures and then may get round to painting them later.

I think that One Hour Wargames offers a lot of opportunities for trying out periods with a few figures as you build a collection. I have thought about adapting them to ECW to get some early games in as I get things painted.
