Many thanks Dirk. I was struck by the fact that your figure have their shields to the front-as they should-whereas every other 54mm Roman manufacturer I've seen has their figures waving their shields in the air and/or to the side for ease of moulding (the appalling Call to Arms poses are just one example), resulting in a 'come and kill me please' look!
Best wishes Anthony

The figures are Chinese copies of King & Country metal painted originals. This means that under the grotty original paint job, the plastic figures are very good, of course. Whether by agreement or piracy I do not know. They were sold under the Supreme brand at one time. Tiger Models used to carry them in the UK, but they have been very quiet of late...

The Supreme Romans were as Mike said great figures under the paint work. I was tempted to go for them but was put off by the lack of easily available opponents* of a suitable size for my needs. (*Mainly TSSD Barbarians and converted Weston Mexican Peasants). So I ended up building my Imperial Roman army from A Call to Arms figures. I got round the shield issue with these by using a pair of garden secateurs to remove them and gluing on some better forward facing ones. Not a perfect solution but they don't look too bad and I survived the process with all my fingers still in tact! You can see my Romans on my 1/32 blog pages. www.drumandflag.co.uk/blogs/news/early-imperial-roman-legionaries-1-32-scalewww.drumandflag.co.uk/blogs/news/tagged/1-32-scale-blog

Rupert,
I am in awe of what you were able to do with the CTA Roman legionaries! If only I had the skill..
Best wishes Anthony
