The 'classic' Foreign Legion set from DEETAIL is a great starting point for a wargame unit, but suffer as normal with this range in have limited poses, however this works in our favour for 'slicing and dicing' as the neckline and waist are well defined for a nice straight cut. Here is what I did and the technique used means that many more configurations can be constructed. I use the re-issue figures by DGS of Argentina as they were easily available and the PVC plastic used is better than the original type and glues very well with just a spot of superglue. These figures can also be bought unpainted and unassembled, making life a little easier for the convertor.
Other foot poses are practical just with a little more thought, once you have them cut up and 'play' with the pieces. The Torsos of the Mounted poses can additionally be used to create more interesting poses for servicing Artillery pieces, machine guns, etc The Officer pose is a little more problematic due to his dynamic pose but pieces could be used to make your NCOs.
