Thanks,
I am notorious for leaving rulers on the other side of the table etc and they are getting harder to read so the hexes are very useful.
The table is roughly 4'x5' with 4" hexes.
The hexes were hand drawn and I am working on cutting hills. They are a little wonky in spots but they work just fine.
Hexon make really nice hex terrain but beyond my means. Hotz matts do some more affordable hex cloths but seemed to be offline these days. So its homemade for me.
If you want to know more just ask.

I live in an old farmhouse in a rural area with working farms as I go for walks I got in the habit at looking at the fields and trying to picture what they would look like on my wargames table, not as a precise copy but just the impression. That's what I used as inspiration for my table.

A good colonial game is an excellent way to usher in the New Year. Thank you for the photos!

One more question Rossmac if you don't mind I noticed on your blog that some of your game tables were done in squares rather than rectangles. I am trying to decide which way to go and what the advantages/ disadvantages are of each. Can you tell me what your experience has been of both Cheers again!
