Got these guys in today:
Was hoping I had scored a batch of older Hing Fat modern army guys. They are definitely recasts. Thick enough that they are playable for most things but are thinning out. This might be the last generation before they become the paper thin blobby mutants that choke the Ebay listings. They aren't terrible...they just aren't great. I am spoiled as I have some first gen Hing Fat versions of these. Really depends on how picky you are.

Funny how the mind works. I tried to recall who made these figs before Hing Fat got them. Sure enough, the name Caipo popped into my head while I was driving. As soon as I got home I looked them up and they were distributing through Mightytoy. Sure enough....there were the figs: www.mightytoy.com/collections/military-toys/products/military-figures-bagged-setPlus when you sign up for the newsletter you get 60% off your first purchase. They are sold out of a lot of things so I called the 1800 and their voice attendant did pick up so they appear to still be in business. There are 40 figs in a pack and I ordered four packs. After the discount and shipping to GA, it came out to basically $20 (11.99 shipping included in that total). SO the discount covers the shipping. Hopefully I will get them soon. If they are still sitting on a stockpile of the original casts I hit a minor jackpot. The casts are great. While one or two BARs and Garands, overall the details are crisp and they make great modern troops. Will post an update when they roll in. |

Welp...got them in. They are labeled as Classic Armor. They are thicker than the Amazon ones. Just enough that I feel okay fielding them. At least I got a better deal!
