Just spotted something on the Ex-Force site. Don't know how I missed them (been so focused on their Napoleonics). They've added Persian Hoplites (these would make better Kardakes than the ones they label as Kardakes already produced, if you regard the Kardakes as having been hoplites) and Hyrkanian Hillman (axmen and javelins)
Best Wishes Dave

Had a communication from Scott Lam of Ex-Force regarding an order.
He said they're tied down with Napoleonics at the moment and preparing for the Roman figures so:
1 No news regarding the Greek artillery, but should be out by the end of 2018 2 Hopefully in a couple of months or so, they hope to release Ancient Britons, Gauls and Galatians, with Romans following after that.
Best Wishes Dave

Great news about the Expeditionary Force plans for Ancient Britons, Gauls and Galatians.
I did not know who the Galatians were - Gallic tribe from what is now Turkey was the answer I turned up.
A sprinkling of these will enhance my converted armies no end.

Hi. Just had an order from Ex-Force and a reply from Scott Lam who sent me a preview photo of their proposed Ancient Britons range some time over the next few months. It's a British chariot and a wonderful item it is too, so I thought I'd share it with you. Best Wishes Dave

A photo of my latest Ex-Force figures. I've used the Persian light cavalry figures, and by changing the heads and doing a different paint job on the tunics, I've now got a unit of Arachosian light cavalry. At the moment I'm changing heads and producing some Paphlagonian light cavalry and with a different paint job again doing some Bactrian light cavalry. Will post photos when I've finished them in about a month's time. Best Wishes Dave

Further to Dave's early Expeditionary Force chariot pic here's a few more photos. They are of the British Charioteer, Galatian Charioteer and the British Chariot. Scott Lam kindly sent me 8 photos of which these are 3 that I could upload here. I have written a 1/32 scale plastics overview article for Wargames Illustrated Magazine in which I am hoping at least one of Scott's pics may be featured to show the sort of fine work Ex-Force do. Part 1 of the article which covers 1/72 scale plastics is due out first so I am not sure exactly when it will appear. (The magazine are looking to expand the range of products they review and introduce to their readers hence the overview articles and other theme based ones I have done recently.) The new Wars of Rome range should start appearing between August and December this year (2018). For the Romans plans look to include Infantry, Cavalry, Artillery, Auxiliaries and Command. For the Celts Infantry, Cavalry, Command and Chariots. Very exciting for those interested in this period. Rupert

Great pics and thanks for posting them Rupert. . I've just read your first article and look forward to the 1/32nd one. It's about time the larger scales were given an outing in the wargames press. Well done that man.
The new Ex-Force range does look interesting.
A while ago, Scott Lam did suggest they would be venturing into the Punic wars, so I'm looking forward to that. I'd asked him about elephants for the Macedonian/Persian ranges, and he said they would be done for the Punic ranges, maybe with a "conversion" kit for the Persian era. Can you just imagine the size of the elephant for their 60mm range!!!!!
As you said in your article, the figures are expensive, but I think they are amazing and well worth the expense to get such good quality figures.
Best Wishes Dave

These celts look amazing. I regularly field my 28mm Roman army against Celts with chariots but 54mm chariots would be amazing on the tabletop.

In order to help my planning for figures/future orders, I asked some questions of Scott Lam.
Here's what he replied:
To supplement the Persians:
1 planned models drawn up for Scythians (horse archers, infantry, noble armoured cav) 2 drawings done for Egyptian marines (archers, spearmen in quilted armour) 3 Phrygian mercenaries (horse + foot) 4 planning for Hellenistic/Punic wars 323-30 BC, which will include war elephants.
Obviously these will not be done in 2018 as the Roman/Celtic and Napoleonic ranges are being introduced/developed at the moment.
So for fanatics like me, a great deal to look forward to!!!!!!
Best Wishes Dave

Thank you for the update. It looks like Ancients collectors may be making monthly payments to Singapore for the next few years.

Ex-Force have started the new 60mm Celts. They now have a Celtic warband available. Only one box at the moment, but the first of many lovely figures.
