Hi fellow 54mm gamers, this is post looking for some advices and help.
The big scale bug bite again and the big boys have it the work table again. First consequence, I realize that my stash of 54mm-1/35 goodies have grown and keeps growing
at an alarming rate and also notice that I start many different projects ( there's such a thing as too many projects??) .
Currently I've got undergoing :
- 1/35.1/32 SCW This was my first foray in 54mm territory. I only succeed to have a Nationalist squad and a few Republican soldiers done.
- 1/32 Franco Prussian War, A few miniatures converted for a convention games 5 years ago. I bought a lot of Armies in Plastic.
-1/35, 1/32 WW1 the 1/32 projet originated with a few miniatures from the previous 1870 project.
-1/32 ACW same here I used the some minis bought for the FPW. Presently I've got only a few bases painted.
-1/35, 1/32 WW2 My main effort during the last weeks. I trying to complete the different units of too many different countries . This was thought originally to be only a few squads of German, Soviet and US troops. The bargain purchases have lead this astray (Australian , Japanese have join the party) tanks, vehicles etc...
- 60mm Conté Barbarians and Romans from a bargain/"why not? "purchase
As a beside note, I'm' of course the only one in my circle of players (not very active btw) to be interested in 54mm or akin so when I plan something, I've got to buy and paint both sides and think about the terrain.
Sorry for this long foreword, I guess I'm not the only one with multiples non-concluded projects in different stages and thinking that I could even add to the list one or two more future projects (ex: Napoleonic ) in spite of the lack of space and the multiplying terrain
How do you manage your projects ? How do you restrain or redirect compulsiveness to finish your projects? I'm curious to know about your opinions and thanks in advance, of course, for any hints.
Cheers
Alberto
