For those who have been kind enough to follow along with my blog postings on Der Resin Kavalier, an issue that seems a stumbling block (to me, anyway) is the need for a good map. Now, as one who hates drawing maps, I've usually sought something online that can be adapted. For my current "War of Franconian Succession" campaign, I turned to my old standby, the Holy Roman Empire during the Middle Ages. Germany at the time was full of states and statelets that almost begged to be used. Maps of all sizes and complexities are easily found online. With a bit of careful editing, you can certainly create your own 18th century world and its wars, complete with allies and foes. Another resource I would recommend is Kronoskaf. This has a wealth of information on the players, participants, armies, and enemies for both the Seven Years War and War of Spanish Succession. Supported primarily by its users, it is well worth supporting.
