Book Review - War and Society In Medieval Wales 633-1283

Got this book for xmas. Its academic, but full of contemopary quotes, both Welsh and Saxon/Anglo-Norman, which give it great flavour and makes me want to create a Welsh army. Stresses the importance of a lord's household troops, as in any feudal society. Refreshingly devoid of any nationalistic sentiment, which is quite appropriate for feudal times.

Argues a welsh leader needed to go raiding to gain bounty for his followers, which is great for Lion Rampant games.
