While I love these sets, something to keep in mind is that the first set of conquistadors are quite small - 50mm or even smaller - and are dwarfed by the other packs. Shame, really. I've done a partial fix by mounting them on thick wooden bases, to fool the eye, but it's still noticeable if you look closely. The Maya are bigger than everybody. But oh my they are beautiful. They look like they've stepped off a codex. Gorgeous figures!

I have some of these figures on the painting table, they are lovely models. What rules are you using with them?

I'm experimenting with the Jackson Gamers' mod of Sword and the Flame, found here: www.angelfire.com/games3/jacksongamer/aztecs.htm Making units much smaller, however. Conquistadors are "units" of five, and Maya are in groups of eight (a full pack each). It's actually working quite well. I've also thought to use GW's LOTR SBG rules, making the Conquistadors as Gondor knights, and allies, Maya as orcs or goblins - not meant as an insult to the natives, mind you, but one needs hordes of them to feel right. We'll see how it goes. There's also a version of Lion Rampant (Queztacoatl Rampant!) that might work... Best of luck with the painting. While I'm keeping mine unpainted for now (a first, but my, doesn't it make storage easier!), they should paint up a treat. Show pics when you've done a few?
