Lovely set up and a period on my "to do" list! Is the Church scratch built as a rather nice building?

We are blessed with a gamer in the area that makes up the 54mm buildings for us in trade for painting. He knocks them out ever so often. And thank you, Mike, it’s been a labor of love and really happy to have it done from concept to execution in less than a year.

Yes, can only add my compliments to all the others. A gorgeous table, and that church! Thanks so much for sharing.

...and those McD coffee stirrers for the movement trays! Games that come out looking like this are what makes 54mm the One True Scale! Yeha!

Oh, and meant to mention last night how lovely your painting is. The blue used with the Yanks really pops! Much more effective than the dull tones I usually end out with...

Thank you guys so much. Almost a year and my first foray into 54mm is mostly complete. I have odds and ends to do still before I make a stab into a more relaxed 54mm Napoleonic project. That one is not going to have a convention game hanging on it so no deadlines to get it on the table. The coffee stirrers I did legit buy from either Michael's or Hobby Lobby as craft sticks rather than stuffing my pockets full of them at a coffee shop, I promise. Course given the price of Starbuck's coffee I think I'd be justified in taking them all. After the convention I'm going to sit down and paint them but it's been a lot of hustling to get it done by the convention this weekend. I'll be taking pics of that one as well, assuming anyone plays. I had one sign up that dropped out so it may be just myself and Pilum40 rolling dice which is fine by me as well. I'm just glad there's love out here in the wilds on the intarweb for the big guys. When I saw and played in Pilum40's 54mm AWI game I was just sold on the fun of painting them and the appeal of the scale as well.

While I'll gladly still play anything, and a game can be great in any scale, there is an appeal to the big boys that makes it hard to go back.
