Man I do love their stuff. Wish they hadn't made the mistake of starting with 60mm (and that their ancients were 54mm...) though.

Yes, going with 60mm was an odd choice. Perhaps it was to force people to use only their figures?

Nice looking figures. I use 54mm and 60mm on the same table.

Previews of the 54MM Japanese 54 PWJ 02 set with notes from Scott:
54 PWJ 01 Japanese Infantry, due in September.
54 PWJ 02 Defenders in Tropical Jungle-dress. Note the 7/10 sleeve shirts of the left photo worn by such troops. The one on the right is armed with a Type 44 Carbine with the swivel bayonet, originally designed for cavalry but eventually issued to many technical and support units as well.

Previews of the 54MM Japanese sets with notes from Scott:
54 PWJ 03 Machine Gun Section with a Type 92 “woodpecker” machine gun and a sergeant as gun commander.
54 PWJ 04 is still a work in progress, with a Type 97 mortar referred to as “xiao-gang-pao (little steel cannon)” by the Chinese soldiers.
54 PWJ 05 Special Naval Landing Force in a Banzai charge! We chose a Type 93 flame-thrower for this amphibious assault unit.

The more I see of these, them more I am sure I will be replacing my existing Japanese with them! I want the SNLF and Scott has even provided them! I just find the style of combined military miniature with toy soldier so alluring. And of course I like being able to put figures together in different ways eg my WWII German Brandenbergers armed with captured American weapons. Can't wait to get my hands on some... Anybody want a WWII Japanese force of Airfix, CTS etc figures?

My favorite piece is probably the HMG and crew.
