Morning,
I am wondering what is available in this scale in the way of Middle or Late Imperial Romans? I have loved the Roman army since being brought up on a heady mix of Ladybird books , Airfix figures and visits to Hadrians wall as a boy. I have or have had Romans in 20mm , 15mm, 25/28mm all Early Imperial Romans. I fancy something different and bigger during this at home time. All suggestions gratefully received.

Alan,

I only know of the metal Irregular Miniatures range that does an armoured Late Roman legionary and armoured Late Roman cavalryman. I think they may do a Goth figure too.

It's not Imperial per se, but have you ever seen this fellow's site? romansgohome.blogspot.com/ Much inspiration to be found there. And he uses Imperial types because he likes 'em and because that's who Asterix fought!

In my adventures with Imperial and Republican Romans I have bumped into this later period a bit.

Bad news is as far as I am aware there's nothing much in plastic at present - although hopefully someone like the prolific Ex-Force or 'No Name' Russian maker may get around to it at some stage.

The slightly better news is that if you are looking at skirmish engagements rather than mass battles there are a few later period figures in the factory painted metal Del Prado Rome & Her Enemies series. These are easier to pick up on European ebay sites than on ebay UK generally.
