Morning,
I currently head swapping, converting figure of the second half of the nineteenth century. Many of the photos l am using for reference have fantastic moustaches, sideburns and beards. I am looking for suggestions how to model these on toy soldier style figures.

Great ideas. Does Dorset do Victorian heads without headgear ?

On a figure in the old toy soldier style, I just paint them on. Using my cheap craft acrylics I can even build up short beards. For more extensive beards or if doing a detailed model or plastic soldier I use a bit of epoxy putty to sculpt one or rather used to, haven't done one in a couple of years now.

Hot needle, pyrogravure, low temp soldering ire - you can work up plastic into some marvellous shapes!

 There are several Dorset heads with beards etc - what inspiring pages for conversions! The plain head might be DJ057 - does not mention facial hear - maybe check with Mike as I bought those head samples c. 2007! |
