One of the great draws of the Peninsula Campaign is the readily available 54mm troops for both the British and French. In many cases, the figures can become the various allied forces with a simple paint job. Unfortunately, finding troops for the Bourbon Spanish is more difficult in this scale. Recently deciding to rectify this by some conversions of other figures, I was able to make a passable Spaniard infantryman using French Line Infantry set from A Call to Arms (Series 17). Obtaining a number of bicorn heads from Irregular Miniatures UK, some plumes from Armies In Plastic French Foreign Regiments (the lower ball on the shako was retained for use as French line), I produced the fellow below. If interested, you can follow the full story on my blog, Der Resin Kavalier.

Very nice figure well done. I'm sure there would be a demand for 1808 period Spanish Napoleonic figures in 1 32 scale. The Spanish of the period have such wonderful uniforms. With Hat Miniatures starting new 1 32 scale again I can only keep my fingers crossed.

Nice work. I'd be all over 54mm Spanish.

What about head swaps with Italeri early French in bicornes (and overalls) and later French? I have always had a soft spot for the Spanish - even raised a colonial army to fight the Rif - left it in the US with a couple of pals who helped me put on a game at Historicon. Nice mix of new khaki and old colourful uniforms.

The use of Italieri French would be a good choice. Finding them is more problematic. ACTA figures are slighter in build than AIP, HaT, or Xforce. The Irregular UK bicorns work very well with the ACTA, but are too small for the others mentioned.
