The guns in SYW colors are now available with crews. Most are the French Napoleonic guns, in various “national” colors, with AWI crews. The SYW British are just the AWI British with a new label. Are these 18tn century figures new? I didn't know AIP did any til I saw this post. Steve Weston in England hasn't got any on his site, so I'm wondering if they're only available in the US?
Has anyone got any and are they any good? How do they compare with the HaT figures?

AiP are less detailed and more toy soldier-ish than Hat, but I've got a lot of them. They are easier to paint.

The AIP figures are widely available, and often, if you order directly, they come with "deals". While they lack the detail of HaT, the paint up well. More importantly, they are easy to convert. Back in 2018/19, I did a couple of reviews on these and other 54 mm figures, although my focus was the American War of Independence. But the SYW figures can be painted into good representations of other powers. I will post some pictures soon. If you wish, please check out my blog, Der Resin Kavalier. There, among other things, are some quick reviews of AIP, HaT, and other figures suitable for the SYW (2018/2019).

The new AWI sets in Gray, Dark Brown and Light Blue contain the advertised 5 figure crew. All the older colors (Red, Dark Blue, Light Brown, White and Green) were always advertised as a 5 man crew but came with a sixth figure sponging the barrel. This sixth figure is not included int the sets produced in new colors.
