I have some tall, slim 60mm African warriors that I would like to convert to Moro warriors. They tower over the excellent Moros I got from Dorset. I have noticed that in real life, the height difference is mainly in the legs, most humans have similar size trunks. Has anyone tried cutting a section out of the upper leg to shorten a figure?

Hey Zuludon I regularly chop my figures down to bring them closer to 54mm. I mainly use a 1mm drill bit and some 1mm wire to pin the figure back together once cut. I like wire to be a tight fit so it holds the figure together incase any glue you use fails good luck!

Ditto. The two places to operate on are the waist and the point where the legs join the body. Slice through with a DIY knife - craft knife blades are too delicate - and soaking for a few minutes in very hot water helps by softening the plastic.
Pin like jhonpog says and cover any discrepancies/make good with modelling putty. I superglue the joint too.
Same technique to increase height.
Using the waist as the reconnection point means the posture can be changed too - good if you have multiple copies of the same figure but want them to look different

yeah what Mike said it seems you chop alot out of the legs and the waist without the figure looking too short. Please share pics of your experiments  |
