Has anyone thought about how they would rate Indians for a French and Indian War AGW game? I have 400 40mm troops who haven’t been on the table in several years ...

Tribal Infantry at 18 figures a group doesn’t quite fit the lay of the battlefield. Even with Fanatical and Bad Shots paired together in a battlefield congested with forests I think they would dominate against any French, British, or Colonial lines. Possibly lose Fanatical but those size units of natives I think would be problematic to balance. It is however my next project when I finish my 28mm Dacian and Sarmatian models.
Sharpshooters maybe? Although that would probably have defanged their melee potential.
I’ll admit I’m probably 18 months out from seeing the project to completion though. Hopefully we’ll be past the pandemic and I can start testing ideas in earnest then.

I asked on the AGW FB group as well and got quite the myriad of opines. Howard suggested 18 figure Tribal Infantry with the ability to split into 3 groups of 6 light infantry. General consensus was Brittle as a deficiency either they preferred sniping from cover or generally weren’t enthused about suffering casualties for someone else’s cause.
Shooting opinions range from them considered excellent shots to poor shots or loss good but under equipped to e as effective as they could be.
I think I like the idea of 18 into 3-6 man units and I’ll still have to have a think on distinctions.

Bands breaking down into 6 man sniping detachments seems reasonable. From what I’ve read, most Indians were not particularly eager to be in melee if they could avoid it....I’ll have to throw something on the table and see how it feels.
