I just ordered a selection of 24mm blocks from Columbia Games (the size used in Hammer of the Scots).
My thinking is that with the 60mm figures I might have to play a "Game within a Game", portraying the battlefield with blocks but then fighting encounters in detail using the figures.
Besides I like blocks! But you can only ever use them when you play a boardgame, but then you always wish you were playing a miniatures game, so maybe I can do both!?

Oooh, I like this idea. Kind of like how the Total War computer games, or the Hegemony series allows you to zoom in when armies meet on the campaign map and then fight the battles in real-time.
