I tried Billhooks the other day. It was an enjoyable game. But if you like gridded games, Tabletop Battles V2 might be worth looking at. I played them with Anthony at last years Woking games day using his adaptations for ECW and they worked well.
I've also got,(and think they read well) Kallistra games Mediaeval Hoardes rules. They're designed for 4" Kallistra style grids and for units of 12mm figures on 4 bases but I'm adapting them for my 28mm (and could be used I'm sure, with 54mm).
Will let you know how it goes

I played the Kallistra Medieval Hirdes rules today, using 28mm figures (would have been no problem using 54mm)
I have Kallistra hex boards so I used those to help with the rules designed for 12mm figures. Each hex is 4", do it's easy to convert movement/ranges - movement is either 1, 2 or 3 hexes, do that's 4", 8" or 12" etc.
All my figures are based like Impetus, do all unit figures are all based on 1 MDF stand. The 12mm figures are 4 base units do I just noted 4 for each unit on paper and then reduced the number if casualties occurred.
Everything else was easy. We both agreed that it easy a fun game, realistic, fast play and do easy to learn. We had a great time and my mate said it's one if the best sets of rules he has played. So, thoroughly recommended and they will be our go to set for Mediaeval games

Good afternoon, wonder what rules people have used for the medieval period? I have my own rules with a lot to owe Chainmail and Warhammer.

I have trouble uploading photos here but I might upload them to my blog, Quantrill's Toy Soldiers, in a couple of days, when I find my device.
