I have a non-wargamer friend who has been helping me with illustrations for the Boxer book and who has some figures and reference material he wants to sell:
"A couple of years ago I acquired some Boxer figures from James Opie – a remainder of his collection. Castings and bits. This started me on a quest to build sets of figures and I hunted the toy fairs for bits to add to my incomplete figures. I had to get shields, weapons, and so on. It was at the time I was asking you about ‘flags’. I converted one of each set into a standard bearer. Not an authentic flag but at least a banner.
I still have all these figures and would like to get rid of them.I am also keen to get rid of my collection of ‘paper’ research material. Quite a lot is in French!! I am attaching some .doc files listing the content of these items. Do any of them interest you? If you are conversant with the French weeklies, you will know that they are approx. A3 in size, have a front cover illustration drawn and coloured and are usually very well done and exact – but some are lurid!"
He has mentioned £4 per figure, £7 for a standard bearer, (no doubt subject to negotiation) and wants to sell in sets only, 6-12 figures in a set. They are painted toy soldier style. I would post photos but the ones he's sent me are way to big (Mike - remind me how to post reduce ones please!)
