Hi folks
Things seem to have been a bit quiet on the board for a while now so I thought Iād just try and raise some discussion! As a relatively new member I was just wondering why a lot of members, particularly newer ones (who youād think might be more initially enthusiastic!) donāt seem to post or contribute to discussion on the board etc. I certainly donāt mean to imply any criticism here, either of them or the board; after all, if people just want to read stuff on the board and follow topics without contributing then thatās absolutely fine. I know Mike started a post just before Xmas asking newer members to identify themselves and say what they were up to and there were 3 or 4 responses to this but there does just seem to be a small number of contributors to the board in general. Again, there should be no compulsion for people to feel they have to contribute but I just wondered if there might be reasons (other than personal choice) why people didnāt and, if so, was there anything we could do about it to encourage wider participation?
From my own point of view, I love collecting, painting and converting model soldiers (in different scales and periods) and also gaming with them when the opportunity arises. Iām in the fortunate position that Iām recently retired so I have the time to do this and potter about on my iPad browsing the internet - Iām aware that not everyone has the time to spare to do this and that might be one factor inhibiting contributions.
I just wondered what other people thought about this with the intention of getting a discussion going in the spirit of trying to get more people talking about toy soldiers!
Anyway, enough of my ramblings (too much time on my hands š) but Iād be interested to know other peopleās thoughts about encouraging contributions.
Regards
Bill
