I received my copy of the new edition of Funny Little Wars this morning courtesy of the author and I have had a chance to flick through them over a cup of coffee. They are a well produced, smaller than A4 paperback which is packed with colour photos of toy troops in action. The rules are very well laid out, making a much more straightforward game to understand than the original rules which could jump around a little in their thinking... The photos are inspirational and I am already thinking I need to assemble and paint my own copy of the armoured train I produced for Imperial Miniatures and get it rolling in the garden. Plus a couple of planes and a balloon wouldn't go amiss either! Highly recommended on first read through - I'll do a more detailed commentary when I have had a chance to try the rules out under fire... The rules are available here: www.lulu.com/en/us/shop/paul-holcroft-wright/funny-little-wars/paperback/product-5m6ng6.html?page=1&pageSize=4Mike

My copy has just arrived ( appropriately whilst gardening) courtesy of the author . I will comment at greater length here and upon my blogs when I have read them in detail. First impressions are that the second edition has been well worth it and a loud “Huzzah !” to the author for his labours. Combined with the sun and Spring it is a heady mix indeed!

I would be interested in reading your thoughts about them. I bought the first set just as a way to support the large-scale gaming hobby, but I have never used them.

Just purchased a copy. I've got the first two books which i thoroughly enjoyed reading. Been tinkering with stands for units of Britains for FLW. I'm pleased with the infantry one - 2 sheets of 2mm mdf with top piece cut for stands - though Britains stands do vary quite a bit (who knew) - but would welcome advice and suggestions for cavalry. I'm not keen on fixing permanent bases due to storage and well they're Britains. I'm not into boxes and trays as it looks a bit like they're in rubbish boats!
