I realized that the majority of my collection currently on hand is actually 45mm-ish copies, of (I think?) mainly Airfix Afrika Corps. I have been picking them up from one of my local grocery stores, which is the only place I have seen army-men style toys here in Honolulu. (No dollar stores here, since shipping anything to Hawaii is so expensive.) They are, as is typically hilarious, packaged with a US flagpole. They have no markings on the bottom, other than a clear sticker on the bottom of a single machine gunner that says "Kenneth Toys," and lists the production location as "Chenghai China." The paper card on the bag shows the brand as "Arcady," so I'm assuming these are distributed through the same channels that supply arcade prizes. (I've been quite inspired my manoftin's Pound Store Plastic Warriors blog in my collecting the past few years...) $4 for a bag of 18, so not quite as cheap as would be expected elsewhere, but cheaper than a bag of tortilla chips, two aisles over!
They are a little thin, but have enough detail to paint up relatively well:
I'm painting a bag of them as "Wurttembergers" for imagi-Nations games.

Liking the look of that pirate too! I will have to post the pirates soon…I wonder if anyone can identify them, as they are nicely done but completely unmarked, and I have had no luck tracking down their origin.
