Seeing the pictures here and on everyone's blogs and I'm very sorry to have missed it! Some great figures and terrain and what look like really fun games. Glad it worked out and hope to be able to come out there next time!
Now, who here on the "correct" side of the Atlantic wants to try something similar? Anyone from this board live on the East Coast of the U.S.?

Anyone from this board live on the East Coast of the U.S.? I'd suggest starting a new thread to organise a USA based games day. Start the thread and I'll make it "sticky" for you so it stays at the top. It would be great to see someone else's take on the same idea. Mike

Having had a chance to visit the various blogs has just confirmed my opinion that the games looked great and the whole day was a success despite not being as large as hoped for. From small acorns etc.
For aducknamed joe: I rarely travel farther south than Portland Maine these days (its a 1,500 km drive to Lancaster PA, only 800 to Portland) but I'd be willing to lend a hand with organizing and if we can get enough people interested and find a suitable location would try to make it down sometime in 2018.
I was involved in a dedicated 54mm game at Cold Wars in Lancaster PA in 1998 but it was a bit early for 54mm with new releases of plastic and 54mm wargaming just getting going again, so while the games were well attended, too few of those who had been interested were available and ready on the day. For a few years after that we had an annual Yahoo Littlewars group 'bring your own' game instead and they were great fun.
Having a 54mm gaming get together doesn't have to be done in conjunction with an existing wargame Con but it saves huge amounts of admin headache, increases exposure, and gives people another reason to schedule it in. Depending on the venue one can often arrange with the Con to have one of the smaller rooms or at least have a group of dedicated tables.
Anyway, starting a new thread as Mike suggests would be a good start.

My Crimean War project is underway thanks to the inspiration of Saturday. I won't bother you about it here because it's not 54mm but there are more pictures of my game with Mike from Saturday which sparked it all off on the page if you're interested. www.matakishi.net/crimean-war.html

Yes I can see that one, but for some reason all the inline images in your post above show as broken to me.

Looking ahead!!!!
A great day in Woking in March, meeting some great new friends.
Now the awkward question Mike. Any plans for a repeat of this great day?
I know people might think It's a bit early, but if there are plans for any other games days like that, I for one want to book them on my calendar so I don't miss out. Don't know about anyone else, but my calendar gets booked up pretty quickly and I've already got dates booked for next year.
Best Wishes Dave

Hi Dave
I more than happy to organise it again if enough people are interested? March seems a suitable time of the year and people seemed happy with the venue ()for the most part).
