Here's some pics of my latest projects. I made a lot of mess but now that's been cleared up it was worth the effort!

Just read your blog report re making this and I found it inventive and inspiring. A great effort. Amazing Airfix transformation too.

Early German command, clubmen & warriors. Some minor conversions of Ex Force here - Del Prado & other homemade shields, some Weston Mexican Peasant heads and a couple of hammers from 60mm Lord of the Rings figures. The big round shields are more Viking than Early German but I liked them and wanted my commanders to stand out.

Absolutely wonderful! My wife and I are currently watching Barbarians and I'm impressed at how accurate both Roman and German clothing is. I can't help wishing Arminius had stayed with Rome (a credit to the actor playing him I think!). I only have X-Force Germans at present but must get some Romans soon. Sadly I do not have your conversion skills so my Germans are straight out of the box.

My latest batch of Ancient Germans. This time some beserker type figures converted from metal Eaglemoss Lord of the Rings Uruk-Hai with assorted Weston & Ex-Force heads etc... nb - Bit of remedial filler work needed on a couple of those arm joins. Attachments:

Latest batch of figures for my Ancient German army. These are mainly conversions from Weston Mexican Peasants plus one or two others. I use these as the rear rank stands for my 8 base warband units. The front ranks being taken up by somewhat larger and more detailed figures from the likes of Expeditionary Force and Del Prado etc... Size mix seems to work ok. On these instead of my longstanding black wash I tried a watered down solution made up of Vallejo matt varnish and satin ink. Quite like it so may well stick with it now. I've been spending most of my recent hobby time of late on 1/72 Scale Waterloo Campaign buildings etc... so quite nice to get back to the bigger guys for a change. Attachments:
